Welcome to the beginning of your journey through Uzima! For those who have not visited the store, this page will give you a glimpse into the alluring and distinctive atmosphere of Uzima.
Our vision is to provide healing to all walks of life and the first step in the healing process is awareness. The store was purposely designed to provide more awareness regarding mental health through funny and thought-provoking comments, images and activities.
We want people to be comfortable in their own skin, regardless of where they are in their journey, and to feel encouraged to openly discuss and embrace mental health in all its diversity and wonder.
Designated Oakland Chill Zone
Uzima is a designated chill zone (aka no flex zone) and we have a “Dude, just relax” policy in effect at our store.
What does this mean? This means we have an explicit policy to make sure we see people empathizing and caring for one another, including employees caring for customers and also customers caring for employees. The atmosphere is all about chilling out and relaxing, and absolutely no negative energy or vibes will be tolerated whatsoever at Uzima.
We are not a fast-food chain. If you are impatient and want a fast turnaround go somewhere else. If you are miserable and want to treat people that way, go somewhere else and get your smoothie and be miserable there. You get the picture. No smoothie for you, bro, until I see a smile 😊
